Send your invoices via Peppol, the real electronic invoicing

You all know that the Digiteam is a European standard advocate. Digiteal believes that these standards benefit all parties involved in the invoicing and payment process, businesses and consumers alike. Therefore, we have been promoting the use of the EPC payment QR code Scan2pay in Belgium for years. You may also know about a European standard for the exchange of invoices.

In brief, its main added value is defining the way invoices are exchanged to avoid complex and costly integration processes. This, while respecting the choice of the parties involved in the way they want to receive and send their invoices. To give you an idea: you can choose your preferred telecom operator, but the call handling process is unique… You can reach any phone number on the planet! It is on this same principle that PEPPOL is based, but for invoicing purposes.

This standard is already mandatory since 2018 for companies doing business with the Flemish government (B2G). The other Belgian governments are moving in the same direction. And, we strongly believe that it is the future for the B2B business too.

As Digiteal is mainly focused on B2C, we also think that it will be the future for the B2C market. Every citizen will be able to choose the way (the operator) he receives his bills. And that, while following his own preferences and not the ones of his issuers.

To pursue these objectives of promoting PEPPOL standards in Europe, Digiteal has become a PEPPOL-certified Access Point. This means that Digiteal is authorized to send and receive your invoices in this PEPPOL piping and to dispatch them to the right recipients (accounting SW, CRM, Digiteal, etc).

Here is an example on how Adfinity (EASI) enhanced its added value by proposing PEPPOL to its customers.

In November 2019, Proximus described their PEPPOL first approach at the E-Invoicing summit organized by BOSA. Recently, Proximus activated it for their B2B invoicing. The objective is reducing costs and providing better services to their customers by delivering invoices directly into their ERP system.

To further extend the reach of PEPPOL in Belgium, BOSA launched Hermes in December 2020. Hermes will make all Belgian companies available through PEPPOL. This will allow the integration of PEPPOL to be even more interesting for the invoice senders. Recipients will receive them in their ERP if they have a PEPPOL access point or by e-mail as a fallback solution.
